Summer Term 4. A Summer Posy
An summer posy arrangement in an urn
I missed this session, so only have images from the demo.
Equipment: an urn container, oasis.
Flowers and Foliage: three or four types of flowers with complementary colours. About 4-5 stems per flower. Foliage to complement it.
Step 1: add the wet oasis to the container.
Step 2: Flowers: add the stems in groups of 3, all at more or less the same length. Start from the sides and work your way up the bowl. You are trying to create a ball of flower heads.
Step 3: Foliage : use the foliage to fill in the gaps and ruffle up the texture a little. Use it to hide any visible oasis. This one uses a limited amount of foliage - it is all about the flowers.
And that is it. Simple but very stylish. Choose flowers in complementary colours to create an integrated mix. The green foliage should punctuate, not dominate the arrangement.
